SLEAFORD MODS X PIILGRIM JACKET
Piilgrim was born out of a desire to feel more in touch with the clothes that we wear, and how they come into being.
Through the use of natural, organic fabrics and eco-friendly packaging, we set out to make a difference.
SLEAFORD MODS X PIILGRIM COLLABORATION JACKET
Piilgrim has it’s roots in music and music history. As well as enjoying making garments that nod to some of our favourite idols from the past, we are also working with musicians who are active today. The clothes that a band decides to wear become their utilitarian uniform. The Sleaford Mods certainly have a lot to say, and are on the same wavelength as us. It was an obvious match.
Combining the revolutionary fury of punk and hip-hop with the bleakness of austerity-era Great Britain, Sleaford Mods capture the spirit of their time with blunt eloquence.
Andrew Fearn’s minimalistic loops, guitars, and keyboards provide a fitting backdrop as Jason Williamson rants about politics, injustice, and pop culture with outrage, scathing humour, and every so often, rough-edged poignancy.
We have worked closely with the band in creating this design, using an old jacket that Jason wore religiously in the early days of the band as our starting point.
We based our jacket on the tattered remains of the old one.
Out of the old, comes the new.
